Citi Prestige Fourth Night –

Update 12/7/2015: The hotel credit finally posted. Perhaps the blog post made a difference as I tagged Citi on social media.

I utilize the Citi Prestige Card for one of my every day credit cards.

The card offers AA Lounge Access, Priority Pass Select Membership, Global Entry Reimbursement and the Fourth Night Free Benefit.

The fourth night free benefit is an excellent benefit. If you reserve your stay with Citi’s travel agent and stay for four nights, you will receive a statement credit for the value of the fourth night of the stay.

Numerous bloggers have been promoting the card heavily and this is a huge benefit offered for card holders. I know several bloggers that have used the benefit multiple times.

I generally do not stay in the same hotel for four nights at a time; however, I recently had the opportunity to do so on a trip to Cancun when I stayed at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun. I wrote about the stay on the blog.

I booked the reservation using Citi’s travel agent, Carlson. I had to make several calls to the travel agent in order to make the reservation. I received the confirmation email from the travel agent stating that the stay would be covered under the program as I booked it through the agency.

At the hotel, I paid for the stay entirely on the Citi Prestige Card; however, I have not received the statement credit.

I have contacted Citi two times as well as the travel agent one time; however, the credit has not posted to my account.

Other bloggers have reported that the credit shows up within a week or two after the stay. That seems to be pretty consistent. In addition, other bloggers have reported that when they have a pre-paid rate, the credit usually shows up within a week.

For some reason, Citi has not issued the credit. I stayed five consecutive nights on a single reservation made via Citi’s travel agent. The hotel was about $465 per day and I have been expecting a credit in that amount.

The program works because Citi receives a commission from the hotel for booking the reservation. The fourth night free benefit is paid out of the commission as well as merchant fees for the credit transaction.

Citi says that it can take two billing cycles for the credit to post; however, they do not seem to have an answer as to why my credit has not posted yet.

I will continue to call them each week to try to get the credit posted.

Hopefully it can be resolved soon at the $465 is a significant amount.

Have you used the Citi Prestige Fourth Night Free benefit? If so, how long did it take for your credit to post?
