I booked the Park Hyatt Beijing for around $200 per night.
I arrived at the Grand Hyatt Beijing by public transportation. I followed the instructions from the webpage. After walking around outside for a few minutes I located the hotel.
When I arrived, I found that the hotel was part of a shopping complex as well as an office park in the heart of the city.
On the lower level there is a small entrance that leads to a bank of elevators. One colleague was present near the door. The colleague held the door open for me and he welcomed me.
The hotel lobby is on the 63rd floor so I took the elevator up. The elevator was express and it arrived at the lobby within 45 seconds.
The lobby was setup with glass windows near the elevator bank which offered a good view of the city. The lobby itself was setup in a minimalistic fashion and it had an upscale appeal. There was a small seating area near the elevators. To the right was a hallway that led to the reception desk. Beyond the reception desk was another set of elevators that led back down to the guest floors.
I approached the front desk and there were three colleagues present and zero other guests were waiting. As I approached the desk one of the colleagues smiled, made eye contact with me and welcomed me to the desk. The colleague welcomed me to the hotel and she offered assistance. After I requested to check in, she asked for my passport. I provided it and she took it and handed it to a second colleague who copied the photo page plus the visa before returning the passport to me. The colleague at the desk used my name and she thanked me for being a diamond member. The colleague provided some hotel information including the food and beverage outlets as well as the fitness center and pool. The colleague confirmed the rate and she printed a registration card and she asked me to review it and sign it. The colleague requested my credit card. After I provided it she thanked me and she processed the payment. The colleague asked how many keys I would need. The colleague asked if I wanted the local amenity or 1,000 points. I requested the points. She also asked if I needed a late check out. I accepted the late check out and requested one key. The colleague thanked me and she walked out from the desk and said she would escort me to the room. The colleague thanked me and she invited me to follow her to the room.
My room was 4005 which was an upgraded king size bed room with a good view of the city. While we were in the elevator, the colleague informed me of some additional hotel services. Upon arrival on the floor she asked me to walk in front of her to the room.
When we arrived at the room, the colleague used the key card to unlock the door and she informed me where to hold the key for opening the door. The colleague invited me to enter the room.
When I entered the colleague made a quick introduction to the room and she asked if the room was to my satisfaction. I said that it was and she thanked me. The colleague informed me to dial 0 if I needed anything during the stay. The colleague thanked me and offered additional assistance. After I declined she wished me a pleasant stay.
A welcome amenity of a hand written note as well as a small fruit bowl was pre-set in the room. I felt that the hand written note was a nice touch which made me feel welcome.
The room was a corner room and it featured five large picture windows with automatic curtains. The room offered a good view of the city.
The room featured a desk with two chairs, television and sitting area. The desk chairs were comfortable; however, the desk was slightly higher which made it uncomfortable to type on my laptop when sitting on the chair.
There was a walk in closet that offered plenty of space for hanging clothes as well as a few drawers to store my personal belongings.
The bathroom was open and it featured a large soaking bath tub with windows looking out into the city.
A separate shower was located next to the tub. A small toilet room was located next to the shower. The sink was found in a cubby area behind the sitting area in the room.
The bath amenities were aromatherapy associates and were of excellent quality. There were also bath salts available at the tub.
The linens in the bathroom and on the bed were clean and they were in excellent condition.
The bed was soft and I was able to sleep peacefully throughout the night.
The room featured a television, WiFi and international plugs which accommodated guests from various countries. The WiFi speed was fast. Many US sites were blocked; however, thanks to my VPN, I was able to access them despite the warning sign at the desk and on the sign in page for the internet.
The room was decorated neatly and there was plenty of room to store my personal items.
During the day time, you could hear some noises from outside including a constant hammering from a construction site nearby. The sound stopped in the late evening.
In the morning I went to the China Grill for breakfast. When I arrived there were two colleagues at the host stand and zero other guests were waiting. The restaurant was approximately 40% full when I arrived. The colleague welcomed me and offered a newspaper. I declined and she thanked me and she confirmed that I wanted a table for one. I said yes and she escorted me to the table.
Upon arrival at the table, the colleague asked for my room number. After I provided it she presented a menu, used my name and offered to bring me a coffee or tea. I requested a cappuccino. The colleague thanked me and she said the server would be with me shortly.
Within one minute, the server approached the table, used my name and welcomed me. The colleague asked if I wanted to order anything off of the menu. I requested the eggs benedict with salmon. The server thanked me. She also informed me that I could help myself from the buffet.
The buffet had multiple stations including a juice bar, salad, bread and cheese station, western items, Asian items, fruit and cereals.
All of the stations were setup neat and the food was displayed prominently and was signed. A variety of items were available. All of the food looked appetizing. Colleagues were present in the area and they were noted to remove the lids and assist with serving the items to guests as they were in the area.
The Asian station offered soup, congee and noodle dishes to be prepared by the chef. The possible ingredients for the soups and noodle dishes were displayed attractively at the station. The colleagues in the area were friendly and polite.
The Western station had sausage, bacon, vegetables, basked beans and tomatoes. In addition, a variety of eggs options were available from the menu. The Chef prepared those egg dishes in an open air kitchen behind the buffet area.
I approached the drink station and a colleague greeted me warmly. I inquired about juice options and he pointed out the different fruits and vegetables that were available to select from. I selected a vegetable drink and the colleague said he would make it for me and deliver it to my table. The colleague also offered an appetizer of fresh salmon with capers and lemon. I accepted and he presented it to me.
I returned to my table and found that the cappuccino was delivered and it was placed neatly in front of me.
The cappuccino was served hot. The cup was decorative and cinnamon was placed on top of it. The espresso had a good taste and the milk was rich and creamy and it was frothy.
The smoked salmon was served on a small plate. Two pieces of salmon were provided. The salmon was rolled neatly. The salmon was topped with a lemon wedge and a caper on the side. The salmon was fresh and it had a mild flavor. The lemon juice was fresh and it added to the flavor of the salmon. The caper was also fresh and it had a good taste.
The server approached the table serving the prepared beverage. The beverage was served chilled. It had a good flavor from the vegetables and it was excellent.
A few minutes later, a server approached the table and offered to remove the dish with the salmon. I accepted and she thanked me. She also served the eggs benedict at that time.
The eggs benedict was served hot. It was presented neatly on a small dish. The portion size was generous. It consisted of a bottom layer of bread that was freshly prepared and it had a good flavor. The bread was topped with spinach that also was fresh. A layer of salmon was on top of the spinach. The salmon was fresh and it had a mild flavor. Two poached eggs were served on top The eggs were cooked perfectly and the egg yolks were runny which enhanced the flavor of the dish. A tangy sauce was served on top of the eggs. The sauce had a good flavor.
While I was enjoying the meal, a server approached the table and offered to bring an additional cappuccino. I accepted and she thanked me. She removed my cappuccino glass and said she would be back shortly.
Within three minutes, another server approached the table with the cappuccino. The server asked me to enjoy it. The cappuccino was prepared similarly to the first one and it had an excellent taste and flavor.
When I finished a dish, the server approached the table to remove it and to clean the table. In addition, if I got up a server cleaned the table and arranged my napkin before I returned.
The tables and chairs were clean. The dishes were in good condition and the flatware and chopsticks were in excellent condition.
The restaurant offered views of the city from the picture windows that completely surrounded the restaurant.
The buffet areas were clean and they were in good condition. The temperature was comfortable and the air was fresh.
When I was ready to depart, the server thanked me for dining and she offered additional assistance. After I declined, she wished me a good day.
Two other servers thanked me as I walked through the restaurant. In addition, there were two colleagues at the host stand. The colleagues thanked me and they asked me to have a good day. One of the colleagues walked out to press the elevator button for me. I thanked her but said I would take the stairs. The colleague wished me a good day.
The hotel has a fitness center and relaxation pool area. The fitness center offered a variety of equipment. There were plenty of towels and water available for guests.
The pool was clean and it offered a main pool as well as two whirlpools. The area was clean and in good condition. The lighting was muted to set a relaxing vibe.
When I was ready to depart the hotel, I approached the front desk. There were three colleagues present and one other guest was being assisted. One of the colleagues invited me to the desk and he offered assistance. After I requested to check out. The colleague asked for my name and room number. I provided it and he thanked me using my name and he inquired about the stay. I said it was good. The colleague reviewed the charges with me and he offered to settle it to the original credit card. I accepted. The colleague thanked me and he printed the folio and asked for my to sign it. The colleague asked if he could assist me with transportation. After I declined he thanked me again and invited me to return.
I departed the hotel and when I reached the lower level another colleague greeted me and he thanked me for staying at the hotel. The colleague asked if he could assist me further. I declined and he wished me a pleasant day.

The rain shower was excellent. The breakfast experience was excellent and I felt the food and the service was very good. I would be happy to return to the hotel again in the future.
