This post is Amazing Rocket City Adventure AMEX Centurion Lounge DFW. It is an airport lounge review.

Access

I accessed the American Express Centurion Lounge Dallas Fort Worth thanks to my Platinum American Express card.

There has been a lot of buzz around the Platinum card as the fee recently increased by $100. There was a monthly Uber credit which was added for the primary cardholder to make up for the additional fee.

I previously reviewed the Dallas Fort Worth Centurion Lounge on my wife and my trip to Mexico.

If you do not have a Platinum American Express card, you can access another lounge in the D terminal at DFW using Priority Pass. If you don’t have an account, use my affiliate link and you can save off membership.

Reception

I approached the lounge and noted three agents present and five guests waiting in line.

After waiting for about five minutes, I reached the front of the line an agent welcomed me to the lounge. After processing my credit card and boarding pass, the agent offered a download code for an e-book from Amazon as well as the WiFi code. The agent informed me that spa treatments were available and said that the massages were all booked however, a manicure was available. I declined the manicure and she thanked me and she asked me to enjoy the lounge.

Lounge Setup

The lounge is setup with several different seating sections. Each section offered varied seating from couches to tables and chairs as well as other unique seating options.

The lounge was busy with activity and it was difficult to take pictures; however, I took a couple of the different seating areas.

One of the best features of the lounge is the decorative lighting and color elements.

The lounge is in good condition overall; however, some of the chairs were damaged and had signs of wear and tear.

A bar area was present in one of the room with complimentary wine, local beers, and mixed drinks.

At the time of the visit, the mixed drinks were limited as the specialty cocktails were not available. A full bar was available.

Lounge Experience

I located a seat in one of the sections at a table and relaxed and used my laptop for a while.

While I was walking in the lounge near the food area, the agent that assisted me with check in, approached me and informed me a massage appointment opened and she asked if I was interested in it. I accepted and she thanked me and invited me to follow her to the spa.

Spa

I entered the spa area and an agent greeted me and welcomed me. The agent took the paperwork that the reception agent gave me and she introduced me to the massage therapist.

The spa treatments offered at the lounge are either a 15-minute chair massage or a manicure. I opted for the massage for this treatment.

The therapist greeted me and welcomed me and asked me to take a seat on the chair.

The therapist inquired my preference for the treatment level. I requested to focus on my neck and head.

The therapist thanked me and began the treatment. The therapist checked in with me during the service and inquired about the comfort level. The therapist also made light conversation with me.

The treatment was excellent and it concluded after 15 minutes. The therapist thanked me sincerely and wished me a good day.

I provided a gratuity and the therapist sincerely accepted it and thanked me.

The treatment room was clean and the temperature was comfortable.

Music was playing lightly in the background. The treatment area had a pleasant scent.

Food

The buffet offered hot and cold items.

The hot items included black bean soup, enchilada, chicken, potatoes and roasted carrots.

The chilled items included three salads, chips, salsa and guacamole.

Desserts were also available including two options as well as fresh fruit.

The buffet area was busy with activity and the dishes were frequently low in stock. In addition, the food items were low in stock as well.

Agents were noted to clean the buffet area and to restock the items; however, the customer level was such that items were unavailable at times.

Servers were noted to circulate the dining area to clean and remove used dishes and glasses.

I selected chicken, enchilada and carrots.

The chicken was served hot. It was lightly breaded and fried and had a good seasoning level.

The enchilada was vegetarian and it was topped with cheese and had a good flavor.

The carrots were roasted and the full carrots including the stems were provided. The carrots had a good taste overall.

Bar

I visit the bar and the bartender greeted me and offered a drink. I inquired about the local beers and she suggested a blood orange ale. I accepted and she provided it in the bottle and offered a glass.

The beer was served chilled. The beer was fresh and it had a good flavor overall. Hint of blood orange was detected.

The beer was one that you would want to sip or only have part of the bottle though as it was on the heavy side.

Departure

When I was ready to depart, I approached the reception desk and the agent that previously assisted me inquired about the stay as well as the treatment. She thanked me for visiting the lounge and she invited me to return in the future.

The activity level at the lounge remained heavy throughout the visit.

Overall

The Amazing Rocket City Adventure AMEX Centurion Lounge DFW visit was good. The staff was friendly and proactive. It was such a surprise that the agent found me in the lounge to inform me a treatment was available despite the fact they were previously all booked. It made me feel appreciated. The food was good and it was an excellent dinner. I enjoyed the visit and looked forward to returning in the future.

Hey, that’s cool that they gave you a code for a free eBook. What did you download? Last time I was at Amex DFW I was able to get a couple of massages because I was there for so long. They feel great, but by the time I fully relax, the mini-massage is over. Hard to complain with free though! Next time, get Gina a manicure. Anna enjoyed hers while we waited on our trip to Rome.
