This post is Excellent Chicago Trip American Airlines Minneapolis Chicago. It is a trip review of my flight on American Air flying from Minneapolis to Chicago.

Background

This Excellent Chicago Trip American Airlines Minneapolis Chicago is a trip report when I traveled to Chicago for a finance training seminar. The meeting took place over the good part of a week.

The trip report includes a review of the Conrad Hilton Chicago as well.

This was the third trip to Chicago over a two month period. The first trip was an Epic Chicago Weekend. The second trip was another work trip.

Booking

The airfare was booked on American Airlines for around $200 round trip. The flight was paid for me by my day job.

Airport Experience

The flight departed mid-day and the airport activity level was light when I arrived in the late morning.

There was no line at security and I was able to go through within three or four minutes.

Once I exited security, I visited the Escape Lounge. I previously reviewed the lounge several times. It is one of my favorite lounges. Unfortunately, it is leaving the Priority Pass program in June 2017. This change is in response to the new partnership with American Express. You can now access all the Escape Lounges using your Platinum American Express Card.

Upgrade

I am an American Airlines Platinum member. Flights under 500 miles are eligible for complimentary upgrades without the use of 500-mile certificates. I requested an upgrade at the time of booking.

The upgrade cleared about two days before the flight at the window.

Gate Area

I arrived at the gate area at the scheduled boarding time.

The aircraft was present; however, boarding was delayed for about five minutes.

Once boarding began, the gate agent invited the passengers in group 1 to board.

When I reached the podium, she asked me to scan my boarding pass. After I did, she thanked me and wished me a pleasant flight.

I joined a small line waiting to board the aircraft and was greeted by a flight attendant at the door.

I located my seat and got comfortable in preparation for the hour long flight.

Boarding was efficient and it was complete within 15 minutes.

The door was closed ahead of schedule and there was a short taxi before the flight took to the air.

I enjoy being by the window so I can watch as the plane prepares to go up in the air.

Seat

I was assigned window seat in the last row of the first class cabin on the Super-80 Aircraft.

The plane was one of the older ones that did not get a new paint job.

The interior of the aircraft was in good condition and the seat was comfortable.

The aircraft had a car-style DC power port, which required an adapter to be utilized.

The plane featured WiFi.

In Flight Experience

Once the plane was up in the air and at a cruising altitude, the flight attendants greeted the passengers in the first class cabin and offered a beverage followed by a choice of a snack from the basket.

The snack basket offered chips, breakfast bars, biscotti, popcorn and cookies.

When the flight attendant reached my seat, I requested a vodka cranberry with lime.

The beverage was served in a clean glass with a stir stick within a couple minutes.

I selected a biscotti from the basket.

The biscotti was blueberry lemon flavor and it had an excellent taste.

The flight went by quickly and soon enough the flight attendants picked up the used items from the cabin and prepared for landing.

As we prepared to land, I took a few pictures as we got closer to the ground.

Landing

The flight landed ahead of schedule and after a medium length taxi, we reached a gate.

The flight attendants and Captain thanked the passengers for flying American and they invited everyone back soon.

Once we arrived at the gate, I exited the plane and the flight attendant thanked me as I walked out of the airplane.

Overall

Overall the Excellent Chicago Trip American Airlines Minneapolis Chicago flight was good. The flight attendants provided a friendly service. The drink and snacks were good and the seat was comfortable. I look forward to another flight on American.
