This post is the Excellent Chicago Trip American Airlines Chicago Minneapolis. It is a review of my flight on American Airlines flying from Chicago to Minneapolis.

Upgrade

I received upgrade from my economy seat to the first class cabin at the gate. There was one other gate upgraded provided based on the information on the video monitor at the gate.

The cabin was completely full and there were only a few seats open in the economy cabin on the flight.

Airport Experience

The Excellent Chicago American Airlines Chicago Minneapolis flight check in experience was efficient. Despite the fact that the check in area was busy with activity, I was able to bypass the desk since I checked in using the mobile app.

In Terminal Three in Chicago, the Pre-Check line is in the middle of the terminal while the other two security lines serve regular screening.

I joined a line of about 20 people and after waiting five minutes, I reached the security agent as well as continued through the screening process without issue.

Gate Area

I arrived in the Gate Area for the Excellent Chicago Trip American Airlines Chicago Minneapolis flight after boarding began.

I approached the agent at the desk because I saw that my upgrade cleared. The agent offered a friendly greeting and she provided the new boarding pass after she verified my electronic boarding pass to confirm it was me.

I joined the boarding line and after a couple minutes, I reached the front of the line and the agent welcome me on the plane.

There was a small line within the jet-way.

I located an empty bin at the front of the cabin and placed my suitcase there without issue.

A flight attendant offered a pre-departure beverage choice. A full bar menu was available; however, I requested a Coca-Cola since I had to work that afternoon.

Boarding continued for about 15 minutes. The door was closed about five minutes before the scheduled departure time.

There was a 10 minute taxi before the plane was up in the air.

Aircraft

The Excellent Chicago Trip American Airlines Chicago Minneapolis was serviced on an S-80 aircraft.

The aircraft was identical to the equipment on the outbound flight and the plane was not pained in the new American livery.

The seat was a standard first class seat with recline. A DC power port was available at the seat.

In Flight Experience

Once the plane reached its cruising altitude, the flight attendants offered a selection from the snack basket to all the passengers in the first class cabin.

The snack basket offered popcorn, chips, fruit, cookies, biscotti, nuts and breakfast bars.

The flight attendant also offered a beverage. I requested water and she asked if I wanted ice. I declined the ice and she thanked me.

I selected a biscotti from the snack basket.

The biscotti was fresh and it was sealed in a wrapper. The quality of the biscotti was excellent.

The water was served in a clean glass.

The flight attendant circulated the cabin and she offered additional beverages to the passengers as well as she offered a second selection from the snack basket.

Landing

The flight lasted about an hour in the air. The cabin was prepared for landing and after a short taxi, the plane was parked at a gate.

The flight attendant thanked the passengers as we departed the plane.

Overall

The Excellent Chicago Trip American Airlines Chicago Minneapolis flight was quick and enjoyable. It was a pleasant surprise to receive the gate upgrade. The flight attendant was welcoming and attentive throughout the flight. The snack options were enjoyable and the experience was good overall.
