American Express Centurion Lounge Miami

This article is a review of American Express Centurion Lounge Miami. It highlights my experience visiting the lounge.

The review is part of my Cancun Birthday Adventure.

Location

American Express Centurion Lounge Miami

The American Express Centurion Lounge Miami located in Miami International Airport near the American Airlines Gates by gate D12.

Access

I accessed the American Express Centurion Lounge Miami thanks to my American Express Platinum Card. The card allows access for you and two guests.

There are several American Airlines Admiral’s Clubs at Miami.

In addition, there is a Priority Pass option where you get $30 credit for Corona Beach House for food or drinks including take-out items. Each guest receives the $30, so if and your spouse go, you will get $60 to spend. The Corona Beach House is located near gate D23 and D24.

Arrival

My wife and I arrived at the American Express Centurion Lounge Miami and were greeted by the friendly agent at the reception desk.

After scanning my American Express Card and verifying my identity, she welcomed us into the lounge and asked if we visited before. I said no and she welcomed me and explained where the bar, food and spa were located.

I inquired if spa appointments were available, as the Centurion Lounge Miami offers manicures and massages. Unfortunately, the next available time was just before our scheduled departure time for our flight to Cancun. Perhaps we will get to use it on a future flight.

Lounge Setup

The lounge is setup in a long room that overlooks the runways.

The bar is on the far end of the room and the buffet was in the middle.

There were also a couple smaller seating areas tucked away on the side of the lounge near the main entrance.

The lounge greets you with a green background similar to other locations and the American Express dog photograph also welcomes you to the lounge.

There were a mix between standard tables and chairs and oversized and private couches with large sides.

In addition, a community table was available at the far end.

The lounge was about 95% occupied when we arrived.

We found that the community table and one small table and chair were available when we arrived.

Food Options

The American Express Centurion Lounge Miami offers a gourmet food buffet including both hot and cold items.

The bar was setup neatly and the dishes were signed and were displayed well.

The hot items included pancakes, omelet, chicken sausage and peppers and oatmeal.

The chilled items included several pre-made salads with toppings such as goat cheese and berries as well as a made to order salad bar. Several dressings were available including a very tasty Green Goddess option.

Cookies were available near the coffee station.

The coffee station featured a custom order espresso machine with a touch screen.

Lounge Experience

My wife and I selected a table and chair at the far end of the lounge as it was the only one available when we arrived.

The chair was comfortable and the table was clean.

Our chair overlooked the runway which was fun watching planes take off in front of us.

I approached the bar and was greeted within three minutes by the bartender who offered to prepare a beverage. I ordered Prosecco and a Bloody Mary.

The bartender prepared the drinks and served them in clean glasses.

The beverages were served chilled and they were presented neatly.

The Bloody Mary had a good tomato flavor. The alcohol level was strong and was excellent. It was decorated neatly.

The Prosecco was also fresh and it had a light flavor.

We selected an omelet and a salad from the buffet.

The omelet was served hot. The omelet was made with eggs, potatoes, sausage and onions. The omelet was cooked well and it was bold in flavor.

The salad was fresh and it was made with mixed greens, vegetables, goat cheese and beats. The dressing was fresh and it had a good flavor.

A server greeted us at our table and removed the used items after we finished. The server thanked us and wished us a good day.

We relaxed for a few minutes before preparing to leave.

Departure

When my wife and I were ready to depart, we noted that the lounge was still at around 90% occupancy.

A server thanked us as we walked by near the community table.

In addition, one of the agents at the reception desk greeted us and wished us a good day.

Overall

Our visit to the American Express Centurion Lounge was excellent. It was nice having a gourmet meal and craft cocktails while we waited for our flight to Cancun. The staff we interacted with were friendly. The food was served neatly and the omelet was excellent.

We love visiting airports with the lounges. It is nice to see that the Philadelphia lounge is now opened. I missed it by a day or two from my last trip to the city of brotherly love.
