Upgrade
I received an upgrade from the economy cabin to first class several days prior to the flight.
I selected an aisle seat for the flight.
Gate Area
After relaxing at the Delta Sky Club thanks to my American Express Platinum Card I made my way to the gate area for Delta Airlines Detroit Minneapolis Christmas Experience.
I arrived at the gate area about five minutes before the scheduled boarding time.
The gate area was busy with activity and many passengers were standing near the boarding area.
I waited to the side as the gate agents prepared to board the aircraft.
Boarding
I joined the line for boarding of Delta Airlines Detroit Minneapolis Christmas Experience when the first-class cabin was called for boarding.
When I reached the front of the line, the gate agent asked me to scan my boarding pass. After I scanned it she used my name, thanked me and wished me a good flight.
I made my way onto the plane and was warmly greeted by the flight attendant at the door.
I took my seat at the front of the first class cabin.
The flight attendants offered a pre-departure beverage. I ordered a Bailey’s over ice.
The flight attendant prepared it minute or two later.

The drink was fresh and it had a good taste and flavor.
Boarding continued for about 25 minutes before the door was closed.
The flight attendants made various announcements and prepared the plane for departure.
It was snowing at the departure time so there was a short taxi to a de-ice station.
After about 10 minutes, the plane was de-iced and the plane made its way to the runway.
Seat
The aircraft for Delta Airlines Detroit Minneapolis Christmas Experience was a 737-900.
I was assigned a bulkhead seat at the forward of the first-class cabin.

The seat was a comfortable first-class seat that reclined.
A video monitor was located in front of my seat.

USB power was present under the monitor as well as AC power below the seat.
The seat back entertainment system offered a lot of options for everyone. The system was responsive to the touch and functioned without issue.
WiFi was also available on the plane.
In Flight Experience
Once the airplane was up in the air, the flight attendants prepared a beverage service.
A flight attendant greeted me and offered a drink.
I ordered Vodka Cranberry.
The flight attendant provided the drink promptly and served it with a lime.

The drinks was fresh and it had a good taste.
I was also offered snacks.

The flight attendants checked in with passengers in the first-class cabin throughout the flight.
The flight attendants were very friendly and they provided excellent service.
I watched some TV shows on the entertainment system during the flight and relaxed on this flight on Christmas.
Landing
The flight time was just about one hour between Detroit and Minneapolis.
As we approached Minneapolis, the cabin was prepared for landing.
The flight attendants thanked all the passengers personally in the first class cabin.
The plane landed ahead of schedule and there was a short taxi to a gate.
Once the plane arrived at the gate, there was a brief pause before passengers were able to depart the aircraft.
The flight attendants thanked me sincerely as I departed and they wished me a Merry Christmas.
Baggage Claim
I made my way to the baggage claim for Delta Airlines Detroit Minneapolis Christmas Experience.
The bags were delivered to the baggage claim area within 10 minutes of my arriving.
My bag was returned without issue and it was in good condition.
Overall
It is often not fun to travel during the Holiday’s; however, I have found that when you travel on an actual holiday, the experience can be quite good. The flight attendants were friendly and polite and they made me feel welcome. The seat was comfortable and the entertainment system functioned without issue. Overall it was an excellent Christmas flight.
