Awesome Rocket City Adventure Party Under A Rocket
This post is Awesome Rocket City Adventure Party Under A Rocket. It covers a party I attended during a travel conference at the US Space and Rocket Center.
Background
I attended the TBEX conference with connected bloggers and other travel writers with vendors and travel providers for a week of networking, education and fun.
During the conference, there were three celebrations. The first celebration was a party in a lumberyard. The second party was a Party Under a Rocket at the US Rocket and Space Center!
Check out all the great activities and attractions in Huntsville, Alabama.
Party Under a Rocket
The second night celebration took place at the US Rocket and Space Center, which is the home to Space Camp where your kids (or kid at heard adults) can be an astronaut for a week and train to fly the Space Shuttle.
The US Rocket and Space Center is an affiliate of Smithsonian and it has a Saturn Rocket outside near the entrance, as well as a model of the Space Shuttle with solid rocket boosters and main tank on the grounds outside the center.
Inside you find another complete Saturn rocket that was turned horizontal and attached to the ceiling overhead.
The celebration took place directly under the Saturn Rocket and included dinner and beer and wine.
A full orchestra performed directly under the astronauts capsule at the top of the rocket.
US Space and Rocket Center
The US Space and Rocket Center features exhibits on the history of space exploration including the missions from the first unmanned ones to the Space Shuttle and beyond to the current day preparations for the SLS.
Space Lab was available where you could get a glimpse into a model of the actual capsule that was used in space.
In addition, the actual quarantine RV used by the astronauts after returning from the moon was available that you could walk in.
One of the Apollo Capsules was displayed along with the parachute that brought it safety.
In addition, smaller rockets were also available inside for you to check out.
The US Space and Rocket Center is spread out over a large area and there are numerous activities and exhibits to check out.
Food
The US Rocket and Space Center featured German food in celebration of the German Scientist and Engineer Werner Von Braun who helped pioneer the rocket industry in Huntsville.
The food included schnitzel with a creamy mushroom sauce, fried chicken, Cole Slaw and some amazing desserts.
The schnitzel was lightly breaded and friend and a large portion was served. The schnitzel was fresh and it had an excellent taste. The schnitzel was topped with a creamy mushroom sauce with an amazing taste.
The Cole Slaw was tangy and the vegetables were fresh.
Pretzel bread was also available.
Two beer options were available as well as red and white wine options.

The US Rocket and Space Center frequently has public events where you can tour the facilities. You can also rent out the space for a wedding or other event and you to can party under a rocket!

What a FAB place for a blogger event! The food looked good too, I love German schnitzel ๐
I love it also! It was surprising at first that they would serve German food for American Space center. But it makes sense since the scientists that helped us lift off initially were German scientists!
I have never visited the US Rocket and Space Center in Huntsville but it looks so much fun to browse through all the exhibits and party under a huge rocket. Not to say they have a good spread of food and my favorite coleslaw. I also love how the Space Center is kids-friendly and have programs to turn their space travel dream come true. A walk into the quarantine RV would be great too.
Isn’t it crazy they made them go in that quarantine RV immediately after returning back from space?
Whoa! That’s awesome!!! That’s a super fun way to keep any blogger totally engaged!!! That Apollo capsule very much reminds me of the movie Apollo 13!!!
I know it reminded me as well. It was very interesting seeing the upright Saturn Rocket outside and then the one on its side above where the party was held.
Wow this sounds incredible! I would love to visit the space centre and see all the rockets and gadgets myself. Who knew you could have a party or wedding there. Very, very cool!
Wow what a place for people who love science and technology. I would like to visit space center as I haven’t seen any till now. My family is a great lover of sciene and technology stuff so definitely I would bookmark this page for future visit. Party also looks cool specially that schnitzel .
Woah. I’d love to visit this someday. I’ve visited the boeing museum in Seattle where I also got to see a glimpse of the space rockets but it’s not as detailed as this one! This one looks like the real deal!!
The US Rocket and Space Center in Huntsville looks like a fun family day out. It must be amazing to see the rockets, the Saturn rocket you photographed looks huge! It interesting they honour the German Scientist with German food, he must have made a big impression in Hunstville.
How cool is this place? I am a huge fan of anything to do with space and this is the type of place I would love to visit. I must of been a lot of fun being able to sit in the spaceship? Definitely adding this to my list.
hmm… traveller’s conference at a Space facility! That is taking travel blogging to a whole new level! Great to see the interiors of some of these rockets. I hope someday they start offering space flights too. he he
