San Francisco and Wine Country Trip Report – United Club at MSP

My wife and I visited the United Club at MSP airport for about one hour while our flight to San Francisco was delayed. The club is located in the E gate area near the United and American gates.

We accessed the Club using club passes that I purchased on Ebay.

Upon arrival at the club, a friendly agent welcomed us at the desk and asked for our membership card. We presented the passes and she asked for our name. After we told her our names, she thanked us and she invited us into the club.

The club features a variety of seating. It appeared that the club was recently renovated as the furniture seemed new.

The seating included small chairs with tables, and larger chairs with side tables. Outlets were available throughout the club.

The club was small but it only had about 10 other guests present during our visit.

On one side of the room, there was a hosted bar as well as a few tables and chairs.

In addition, a self service buffet area was available with oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and pastries as well as a coffee machine.

The buffet was clean and in good condition and it was stocked at a medium level. The food items were signed.

Another station was available in the room with water, coffee condiments, tea and hot chocolate.

The lounge was clean and the chairs were comfortable.

The bar was setup neatly with the bottles arranged neatly. A television was tuned to sports programming. The bar counter top was free of spills and the glasses were in good condition.

I approached the bar and was greeted by the bartender. The bartender offered assistance. I requested a spicy Bloody Mary as well as a Diet Coke for my wife. The bartender asked if I was over 21 but he did not ask for my driver’s license to verify. I said that I was 37. He thanked me and he prepared the beverage in front of me. The beverage was garnished neatly with celery, olives and lime. He served it on a cocktail napkin. The bartender also provided the Diet Coke in a clean glass with a cocktail napkin. The bartender thanked me when he served the beverage sand he asked me to enjoy.

The beverage was served chilled in a clean glass. The Bloody Mary mix was tangy and it had a slightly spicy taste. The alcohol level was good. The the olives were fresh and the celery was crispy. The Diet Coke was served chilled over ice and it had a good taste.

I selected a banana and orange from the buffet.

The banana was sweet and it had a good taste. The orange was also sweet and it had a good flavor.

The bartender greeted us while we were seated in the lounge and he asked if he could bring us anything else. We declined and he thanked us. The bartender offered to remove our used glasses. We accepted and he took them and cleaned the table in front of us.

When my wife and I were ready to depart, we approached the desk and the agent thanked us and she wished us a good flight.

Summary –

The visit to the United Club was good. We felt that the bartender was friendly and polite and that he made an excellent Bloody Mary. We wished we would have had more time to relax in the lounge and would return again in the future.
