American Admiral’s Club Chicago

This review is of the American Admiral’s Club Chicago O’Hare H/K lounge.

The review is part of the larger Singapore Mileage Run Adventure.

Access

I have the Citi American Executive Credit card which gives Admiral’s Club Membership to all cardholders. It also allows for guest access to the lounge regardless if you are flying on American or not.

In Chicago, if you are traveling out of the International terminal, you are able to access a Priority Pass lounges.

In the domestic terminals, lounge access is limited to the airline operated clubs. In American’s case, there are three lounges at the airport.

Arrival

The American Admiral’s Club Chicago is the main club which is currently under renovations. The club continues to open new sections as the construction is complete.

In addition, the lounge will soon become the new Flagship lounge.

During the construction in the lounge, some of the seating areas are unavailable and the lounge can feel very busy at times.

When I arrived, there were two agents assisting guests at registration.

I waited for a minute or two before reaching the front of the line. The agent processed my membership credit card and asked me for my American AAdvantage number. I provided it and she thanked me and invited me into the lounge.

Lounge Setup

The lounge had several new sections including a quiet area with lounge chairs and upscale comfortable seating where you could kick back and relax before your flight.

In addition, both bars were expanded and they offer a clean feel and updated look.

The bars have a wine tasting machine where you can sample wines for a cost.

The main bar is where the food options are available.

The buffet is extensive and the options included soups, dips, vegetables, fresh fruit, snacks and more.

During the visit, the American Admiral’s Club Chicago was offering made to order guacamole with corn, tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, cheese, garlic and seasonings.

A great feature of the lounge are the large windows that you can overlook the airplanes moving around the airport and at the gate areas.

Lounge Experience

I took a seat in the quiet room on one of the updated chairs with high sides.

The seat was comfortable and I charged my phone at the seat with both AC and USB outlets.

I visited the buffet and made an Espresso Drink using the touch screen coffee machine.

The coffee was served hot. The espresso was rich in flavor and the milk was foamy and it had a good taste and flavor.

I approached the guacamole stand. A staff member greeted me warmly and asked how I would like mine prepared.

I requested it with everything and she thanked me and she prepared it in front of me. The guacamole was placed in a decorative paper container and the staff ember presented it to me with chips and asked me to enjoy it.

The guacamole was fresh and it had an excellent creamy taste. The toppings were placed on the side of the guacamole so you could scoop of the tomatoes, onions, corn, jalapenos, garlic and cheese with each bite. The toppings were fresh. The chips were crispy tortilla ones that went well with the guacamole.

A staff member was noted to circulate the room and he picked up my used glass and cup shortly after I finished it. The staff member was polite and he greeted me warmly.

Departure

When I was ready to depart the lounge, the same staff member that greeted me at my seat smiled and acknowledged me and wished me a good flight.

A bartender greeted me when I walked by the bar as well.

The activity level upon departure was approximately 70%.

Overall

I enjoyed my visit to the American Admiral’s Club Chicago. It is fun seeing the new sections as the lounge renovations are being completed. I thought the addition of the guacamole bar was a nice touch. The guacamole was excellent and it was so nice you could get it customized to your liking. The relaxation area was excellent. If I had a longer stay, I would have made use of one of the day beds.

Have you seen the new relaxation area at the American Admiral’s Club Chicago?
