Holland America offers cruises throughout the world. They are well known for amazing Alaska cruises and Alaska experiences. In addition, Holland America is known for Dutch Hospitality and offers excellent European cruise options.

The cruise line is known for its laid back experience and traditional experiences such as High Tea and it prides itself as having the largest libraries at sea.

Holland America has received awards for the food and beverage experiences and offers such options as local cuisine from the ports where the ships call. In addition, guests in Alaska can go fishing and then having the fish that they caught prepared onboard.

This week, Holland America Cruise Line is introducing a new Caribbean Theme Menu which focus on the amazing food of the islands!

The cruise line is introducing the menus on Caribbean sailings in the main dining room as well as in the buffet.

The menu is part of the regional offerings that Holland provides throughout the world on sailings.

The Caribbean Theme Menu will be offered as part of a brunch menu as well as dinner menu.

Holland America will be preparing the dishes from fresh local ingredients.

Menu Options

The Caribbean Theme Menu options include a variety of dishes as well as beverage options.

Some of the new dishes include:

  • Chilly Caribbean Shrimp Cocktail with orange habanero aioli.
  • Jerked Pork Tenderloin with peanuts, rice pilaf and black beans.
  • Mahi Mahi Diablo with cilantro rice and guajillo chilies.
  • Spiced Pork Belly with pineapple, salsa, roasted squash and sweet potatoes.
  • Corn and Salt Fish Fritter with garlic aioli.
  • Chicken and Callaloo Soup with butternut squash, garlic, thyme and toasted coconut.
  • Steamed Stone Crabs served chilled with a Dijon aioli dipping sauce (supplemental charge).

These new dishes sound amazing. I love Mahi Mahi so that option is something I am most interested in trying.

At brunch the cruise line is featuring Blueberry Croissant Pudding. The bread pudding is served with warm rum vanilla sauce is one of seven new bread pudding flavors introduced on Holland America Line’s Caribbean cruises.

Pirate Theme Rum Punch

Holland America is also introducing a Pirate Theme Rum Punch to go along with the Caribbean menu.

The rum punch crafted by renowned mixologist David Wondrich and will be made with pot-stilled Jamaican rum. The drink also features a dash or Orange Curaçao, various citrus juices and a traditional sprinkling of fresh-grated nutmeg.

The ships mixologists will mix up the new rum punch along with a new menu of drinks to celebrate the Caribbean.

New Menu

The new menu sounds good overall and I am sure guests will love the new food and drink options.
