This article is Carnival Orders New Excel Class Ship. It is about Carnival adding a new sister ship to Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration and Carnival Jubilee!
A fourth Excel Class ship has been ordered from the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany.
Excel Class
The Excel Class ship for Carnival offers many thrills including Bolt, the first rollercoaster at sea!
The ships are powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and are cleaner than traditional diesel burning cruise ships.
The new ship will debut in 2027 and it will be 180,000 gross tons. The ship will carry up to 6,400 guests.
New Ship
The new ship in the Excel Class will wow guests! So that likely means that Carnival will be adding additional features beyond what is currently available on Carnival Jubilee, Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras.
I sailed on Mardi Gras last year and had a great time. You can read about the experience here.
Meyer Werft
The shipyard scheduled to build the new Excel Class ship is Meyer Werft in Germany. The shipyard is legendary in shipbuilding going back many years.
Meyer Werft is an excellent builder of LNG ships and has been the main builder for Carnival brands fleets including AIDA Cruises, P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises, and Carnival Cruise Line.
The builder operates several shipyards in Germany and Finland.
