It is always exciting news when a new cruise ship debuts and is officially named.
Naming ceremonies are a special celebration for media, travel agents, cruise industry professionals and others to officially name a ship and bless it as the ship begins service.
Sometimes these happen prior to regular guests sailings and sometimes after.
In the case of Carnival Jubilee, the ship has been sailing for several months now from Texas.
Carnival Jubilee
As an Excel Class ship, Carnival Jubilee is sailing from Galveston in Texas. Jubilee has Bolt, the famous roller coaster at sea similar to her sister ships of Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration. In addition, Carnival announced recently another ship in the class was ordered. You can read about that here.
Jubilee offers many fun areas for guests to enjoy Texas themed experiences. In addition, the ship is currently offering complimentary dining at two of the popular Carnival eateries including the Italian Restaurant and Fusion Chinese restaurant Cha Bing.
On the other two Excel Class ships, guests get one dinner at each of those two restaurants, while on Jubilee for the inaugural season, guests can dine as many times as they like at these two locations.
Naming Ceremony
Carnival put on a Texas sized naming ceremony at the home port.
The Texas Galveston mayor named the day Carnival Jubilee Day in commemoration of the event.
The naming ceremony traditionally means breaking a bottle of champaign on the bow of a ship as well as a blessing over the ship.
Gwen Stefani was a Godmother of the ship officially using a rope to release the champaign bottle to name the ship.

After officially naming the ship, Gwen Stefani performed several songs.

Naming Ceremony
The naming ceremony was hosted by cruise director Kyndall Fire.
In addition, the President of Carnival Cruise line attended the event and provided Texas size fun for the audience.
Special guests included travel content creators, media, travel agents and Carnival executives.
The event offered a Texas Rope show and many special surprises.
Jubilee
Carnival Jubilee offers seven-night cruises from Galveston to the Caribbean for a Texas Fun Ship Experience.
Jubilee is Carnival’s 26th cruise ship and offers fun for everyone.
