After clearing immigration and customs via Global Entry and going through security I was left with about four hours before my next flight.

I made a quick stop at the D Admirals club to check if any showers were available. I was told that there was a long waiting list. I also asked about standby for the flight in about an hour and a half. The agent put me on standby and he suggested going to the A club which offered the “best showers at the airport.”

I accepted his suggestion and took the Skytrain over to the A terminal and made my way to the A club.

I checked in quickly at the desk and presented both my current boarding pass plus the one from Shanghai and was issued a drink ticket and was welcomed into the club.

I stopped at the assistance desk as soon as I arrived in the club and the agent welcomed me and offered assistance. I requested to use a shower and the agent issued a key immediately and gave me instructions where to go.

I was issued shower room 6. The shower room was a standard room which featured a spa shower that had a rain-shower overhead as well as three jets on each side of the shower. The shower room also featured a sink, large mirror, hair dryer and toilet. The room was stocked with bath amenities including shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion. One shower towel, one hand towel and one wash cloth were placed in the room.

I had about 20 minutes before I needed to go to the gate to see if I made standby so I took a quick shower. The water temperature and pressure was excellent and the side shower jets were refreshing after the long flight.

The bath amenities have a pleasant scent. The towels were clean and they were soft.

Overall the shower was excellent and it was exactly what I needed after the long flight.

I made a quick stop at the bar and used the coupon to get a smoothie.

The lounge is spread out and it offers a variety of seating areas. A smoking section is present as well as a small fitness center, which is unique for a lounge. No one was using the equipment at the time. A children’ area as well as a quiet section was available with relaxation chairs.

The lounge was moderately busy at the time of my visit but I found a seat and rested for a couple minutes before having to leave.

The lounge offered two soups, vegetables, cheese and crackers, hummus and olives, and cookies as well as the bar area offered a number of food items for purchase.

The visit was enjoyable and I am glad I stopped in before the next flight.
