Seoul Trip Report – Korean Air Lounge – Seoul Incheon Airport

I arrived at the airport in Seoul about three hours before my flight back to Dallas. The airport check in area was busy with activity. I used a kiosk to see if any new seats opened up for my flight. No new ones were available so I proceeded through security, followed by immigration. That process took about 20 minutes. Once I was out, I found myself in a large duty free shopping area.

I looked around for lounge and found a few but the signage was confusing. There are two terminals and the ones located near the first terminal served Asiana Airlines and Korean Air. There were also a few Priority Pass lounges there. I first looked for one that I could access using my One World Emerald Status.

After visiting the Korean Air lounge and the Asiana lounge, I learned that I needed to go to the other terminal in order to find the lounge.

That required taking a train.

Once I got to the second terminal, I proceeded to look for the lounge. The Korean Air lounge had a sign noting that American Airlines passengers could use the lounge.

I approached the front desk and the agent welcomed me and asked me for my boarding pass and airline card. After I provided it, she invited me to enter the lounge.

The lounge had a large open room seating area with seating in blue and beige colors which were the Korean Air ones.

There was a self service buffet area and a small self service bar.

The best feature of the lounge was the large windows that looked out into the gate area. This view offered a large area for viewing airplanes.

The lounge had a small area for showers and restrooms but was otherwise one large room.

The buffet offered a three hot food items, one soup, as well as pre-packaged noodles for heating up. The cold options included two salads, fresh fruit, sandwiches and snacks.

The bar setup was limited and there was one white and one red wine available. Beer and sodas were available along with juice and coffee. Bottled water was in small pre-packaged foil wrapped containers.

The ham and cheese pizza was served luke-warm. The bread was light and the cheese was fresh. The pizza had a slightly sweet taste. The shrimp fried rice was served warm. The shrimp were tiny but they were cooked well and it had a good flavor. The pasta salad was chilled and it had a tomato flavor. The tomatoes were served chilled and they had a good taste.

The internet connection was fast and I was able to upload pictures as well.

I took a seat and watched the planes for a while and worked on my laptop a bit.

When I was ready to depart, the agents thanked me as I walked by the desk.

Overall the lounge was okay. The food was average; however, the view of the gate area and the planes was excellent.
