Cancun American Admiral’s Club Miami
During our trip to Cancun, we had about an hour and a half layover in Miami.
We decided the visit the Admiral’s Club for a drink and to relax before our flight.
Upon arrival at the club we discovered that it was being renovated to make way for a Flagship Lounge as well as an updated experience.
At the entrance there were a few other guests waiting in line for access.
A colleague walked up to us and asked for our access card. I provided my Citi Advantage Executive Card which grants Admiral’s Club Membership. The agent asked for my Advantage number and I provided it. She thanked us and welcomed us into the lounge.
You may be able to apply for the Citi Advantage Card or another credit card that offers lounge access by applying through the following link where you will be matched to the best card for you.
Lounge Experience
The lounge was busy with activity when we arrived.
There were several sections for seating.
In addition, there was an area where you could buy food.
Some seating was available near the windows over looking the gate area.
A full bar is located in the middle of the lounge with bar seating.
Two stations were setup with snacks and coffee.
The snack options included oatmeal, bagels, bread, pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal and various other items. The food was all stocked full and the food looked appetizing.
My wife and I were not hungry so we did not sample any of the food items during the visit but they looked good.
We took a seat at one of the tables near the bar.
Bar
I approached the bar and was greeted by a bartender who welcomed me and offered help.
I requested a Lite Beer. The bartender thanked me and he provided the beer in a chilled glass.
The bartender asked if I needed anything else.
The beer was chilled and it had a good taste.
We relaxed in the lounge for about 45 minutes before it was time to go to the boarding area for our flight.
As we departed an agent near the front door thanked us and she wished us a good day.
Summary
We enjoyed relaxing at the lounge. The bartender was friendly and he provided efficient service.

It’s always fun to check out new lounges and have a few free snacks and drinks to start your vacation the right way! I’m thinking of getting the Amex Platinum again since I saw a recent upgraded offer.
Well the Centurion Club blows the Admiral’s Club out of the water so you will be happy if you go with that card! Everyone raves about all the ones in the US. Gourmet food and cocktails and the one in San Fran even has a wine sample machine where you can try local wines.
