Gate Area

Our American Airlines Charlotte Minneapolis Economy flight departed from the B gate area.

The B gates were under construction at the time.

When we arrived, all the seats were taken and many people were standing around the gate area.

Fortunately we did not have to wait long before it was boarding time.

Boarding

The gate agent for the American Airlines Charlotte Minneapolis Economy flight made several announcements to welcome passengers on the flight.

I was assigned group three, so we joined the line when that group was called.

The gate agent welcomed us and asked us to scan our boarding passes. After we did, the agent used our names and thanked us for traveling on American before inviting us to board.

We received polite greetings by the flight attendants at the door before we made our way to our seats.

Boarding continued for about 20 minutes before the door was closed at the scheduled departure time.

There was a short taxi to the runway, where we took off without a delay.

Seat

The aircraft for American Airlines Charlotte Minneapolis Economy flight was a 737 with the updated Sky Interior, seat back entertainment screens, power ports and USB ports at each seat.

The seats were slimline economy seats.

We were seated in the Main Cabin Extra section so we had plenty of leg room and the seats had a decent recline.

The power port and USB port functioned at both of our seats.

My seatback video screen was damaged and the picture did not display correctly.

My wife watched a movie during the flight using her screen.

WiFi was available on the flight; however, streaming entertainment was not.

In Flight Experience

Once the flight reached a cruising altitude on American Airlines Charlotte Minneapolis Economy, the flight attendants provided a beverage service.

My wife and I both ordered water and it was provided promptly with a package pretzels.

The flight attendants returned about 10 minutes later to pick up the used cups.

We relaxed on the flight.

I worked on my laptop for a while during the flight before relaxing at my seat.

Landing

The plane landed on time and after a short taxi to the gate, we exited the plane.

The flight attendants thanked us as we walked by.

Baggage Claim

My wife and I made our way to the baggage claim area for our American Airlines Charlotte Minneapolis Economy flight.

We waited for about 10 minutes before the bags were delivered to the belt.

Overall

My Cancun Birthday Celebration came to an end as our plane returned to Minneapolis. The flight from Charlotte to Minneapolis was uneventful. It was a pleasant surprise to have the seatback entertainment screens and power ports on the aircraft. My wife enjoyed a movie, which passed the time on the two-hour flight. I worked for a while before relaxing. The flight attendants were polite and provided efficient service. We look forward to our next trip.
