Arrival

Upon arrival at the hotel, I noted two guest service agents at the reception desk I joined a line to check in.

Upon arrival at the desk, the agent welcomed me, asked for my name and used it during the interaction. The agent located my reservation and confirmed the details of the stay.

Room

I was assigned room 323, which was a king size bed room that offered a view of downtown.

The room looked modern and it was clean and had a pleasant scent when I arrived.

The room featured a large king size platform bed with crisp linens.

Two comfortable chairs were located near the window as well as a large desk where you could work on a laptop.

I enjoyed looking out the window to see the views of the city.

The bathroom was clean, and it was setup neatly.

The vanity had plenty of space for my personal items.

Overnight Experience

The room at Inn at the Forks faced west so I got a good view of the sunset in the evening.

Each day the room was cleaned neatly it was reset.

I did not interact with a housekeeper during the stay as each time I returned to my room, I found that the cleaning was already provided.

Breakfast

I had breakfast at Smith Restaurant on one of the mornings.

The restaurant offers a bar with gourmet wines by the glass.

A server greeted me and offered a coffee.  I requested a cappuccino and she took my order.

I ordered the shakshuka for the entrée and she thanked me.

The server prepared the coffee and served it about five minutes later about the same time as the shakshuka was served.

The cappuccino was served hot in a decorative dish. The espresso had a good taste.

The shakshuka was served hot in a large bowl.

The shakshuka had a mild tomato sauce with hard poached eggs in it and cilantro.

The sauce was good overall, but it lacked the traditional middle eastern flavors one would expect from shakshuka. In addition, the egg was hard, so no yolk ran out when I cut into it. It was otherwise a good breakfast.

The dish was served with toast. The bread was fresh and it had a good taste.

The server checked in with me a couple times during the meal and cleared the table when I was finished.

The server wished me a good day.

Check Out

When I was ready to check out from the Inn at the Forks, I approached the front desk and an agent greeted me. The agent inquired about my stay and she thanked me for staying at the hotel. The agent said that I was all set and she invited me to return.

I spent a few minutes relaxing in the lobby in this great seating area before having to depart for the airport.

Overall

My stay at the Inn at the Forks was enjoyable. I loved having a great view out my window. The bed was comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly and polite and the housekeeping staff kept my room in good condition. The breakfast experience at Smith was fair overall. Perhaps I should have ordered a more traditional dish rather than shakuska for more flavors. The server was friendly and polite though and I felt welcome. Overall it was a nice stay.
