Celebrity: Two Ships for Summer 2024 in Caribbean, Calling at CocoCay

As a Celebrity Cruise Line fan this is some exciting news! Typically Celebrity did not go to Royal Caribbean’s private islands except for a very infrequent stop at Labadee on some special sailings. So now in 2024 guests on some Celebrity Beyond and Celebrity Reflection sailings will get to go to Perfect Day at Coco Cay! It is such a fun island with all the different areas including a swim up bar at South Beach and the pool party on Oasis Lagoon!

Be sure to book your Celebrity Cruise with me! I would love to help you plan your amazing vacation. These sailings will be available starting in April 2024. Celebrity Beyond will be doing six and eight night sailings and Celebrity Reflection will be doing short weekend sailings! Email me at john@johnthewanderer.com to get started planning your cruise!

How are Cruise Line Crew Members Paid? More Than Just a Paycheck?

Fellow Boarding Area blogger and cruise line employee shares this article about how crew are paid. I thought I knew some of this but this article has some unique ways that some crew members are paid. Think stock options! That is pretty cool that the crew can have ownership in the cruise lines as part of pay!

Even though gratuities are being included in most sailings now it is important to leave a little extra for those that are working to serve you! I always make sure to tip the room stewards and servers who help me frequently a little extra.

Scarlet Lady cruise ship review: What to expect on board Virgin Voyages’ 1st ship

I sailed on Scarlet Lady in 2022. That review is coming out soon; however, here are some good points on what to expect. I loved the speciality dining which is included but I did not like always have to watch my bar tab when I wanted coffee or some basic drinks. Fortunately now a lot of the sailings include prepaid bar tab up to about $600 for a week, so that can make it easier to get those awesome Intelligentsia Coffee drinks and cocktails by the pool!

Bahamas Delays Cruise Passenger Tax Increase

Nassau Lighthouse

This is good news that there will be a delay on the additional taxes and fees that will be charged when sailing to the Bahamas. I love sailing to Nassau and Bimini so it will be nice there will be a delay on the increases. Especially since cruise fares are so high right now!

Those were a few of the articles that stood out to me! Did I miss something that you saw? Let me know and I can share it on a future article!

For now I am excited to book another Celebrity sailing so I can go to Perfect Day at Coco Cay again!
