Santorini overview

This article is 48 Hours in Santorini. It is a cruise news update with the key story about spending 48 Hours in Santorini.

I read a lot of articles. When I find interesting ones, I save them so that I can share them online. These are some of the articles that I have been reading this week.

48 Hours in Santorini

This is a great read about spending a couple days in Santorini. I loved visiting the Greek Island this summer on my cruise from Athens. I agree with the writer in that it would be awesome to go on a boat tour around the island plus visiting Oia and Fira are top on my list for when I return. Obviously you can’t do all these things on a cruise, but its a great read anyway. The article can give you some ideas for your port day. The boat ride could make you avoid the wait for the cable car up from the port also as many of them leave from the port area.

You can read about my European cruise and experience on Santorini here.

Venice cruise from Ljubljana

Now that it is difficult to cruise to Venice with the rules regarding the size of the ship, this suggestion to fly to Ljubljana may be a perfect way to go to get to the new port. It is still a bit of a drive to the port, but this city will give you some fun experiences that you wouldn’t otherwise get. Have you been to Ljubljana?

Bolt on Carnival Jubilee is almost finished

In some exciting news for Carnival the new ship’s rollercoaster is almost finished!

I still need to sail on Mardi Gras or Celebration so I have not had an opportunity to ride the rollercoaster. It was fun watching people on it though in Nassau earlier this year. It sure is thrilling seeing people’s pictures online from Bolt also!

Cancellations on Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Constellation

Scheduling for cruise ship renovations in drydock can be difficult. Oftentimes other ships get delayed so all the planning can go wrong like it did for Celebrity Apex, who is having the dry dock changed from 2024 to 2025. That is causing about two months of cancellations. Celebrity is offering some good compensation to change to a different ship or rebook at a later date. In addition, Constellation is now going to offer 7-night sailings from Tampa, so that changed the schedule for people who may have booked longer sailings. While these changes can be difficult, it could give you a unique opportunity to go on a better cruise or get a better cabin on a different ship.
