JAL First Lounge Tokyo Haneda

This is a review of the JAL First Lounge Tokyo Haneda.

The review was written by my colleague who recently traveled to Tokyo on business.

Lounge Access

I get access to the JAL First Lounge because of my One World Emerald Status that I receive for being an American Airlines Executive Platinum Member.

There are several lounges at Tokyo Haneda airport. If you are a Priority Pass member, you have access to three lounges in Terminal 1 and two lounges in Terminal 2.

If you are not yet a Priority Pass member, you can apply for a membership using our affiliate link. Thank you for your support of the John the Wanderer blog.

Lounge Setup

The JAL First Lounge is located on the upper level of the Haneda Airport. The lounge has a large picture window that overlooks the gate area as well as the tarmac.

Upon entry you arrive in a decorated hallway, where the showers and restroom facilities are located behind.

At the end of the hallway, there is a long room that is divided into several sections. The first section features a variety of tables and chairs. Some of the chairs are located along the window so you get excellent views of the gate area and tarmac.

The second section is the dining room area. The dining room area consists of tables and chairs.

The final section of the lounge has a variety of seating options.

Directly across from the dining room area is the food buffet. The buffet includes several sections that offer Asian and Western food options.

There were multiple hot food options including Dim Sum, noodles, curry, rice dishes, pasta and chicken entrees. It appeared that at some times during the day a made to order station was available; however, it was not offered during my visit.

Sushi was available along with the chilled items.

A self-service bar was available with a variety of alcohol and wine options.

In addition, there were two varieties of beer available via beer pouring machines.

Staff Interaction

The staff members were friendly and polite. In traditional Japanese custom, the staff bowed at the conclusion of interactions. The staff was noted to circulate the room and to keep the tables and chairs clean. In addition, the staff was observed to stock the buffet items and keep that area clean as well.

Food and Beverage experience

I selected Dim Sum and Beef Curry.

The Dim Sum were served hot and two varieties were available.

The Beef Curry was also hot and it was served with rice. The dish was flavorful.

Overall

The lounge was a great place to relax while I waited for my flight. I enjoyed sitting by the window and watching the airplanes arriving and departing from the gate area. JAL and ANA were the main airlines operating in the area that the lounge overlooked. The food was enjoyable and the stuff was friendly and attentive.
