After going through security at Tokyo from the transfer area, I proceeded to the JAL First Class Lounge. I was given access because of my Executive Platinum and One World Emerald Status where I get to use First Class Lounges when I am traveling internationally.
Upon arrival at the desk, the agent requested my boarding pass. The agent used my name and she thanked me and she escorted me to the first class area and she offered further assistance.
I inquired about changing the seat on my flight to Seoul and she quickly located a seat closer to the front of the economy cabin. I also inquired about the use of a shower and the agent said she would assist me and she escorted me to the shower registration desk. The agent introduced me to the agent working at that desk and she arranged for me to be put on the wait list for a shower. The agent presented a pager and she said it would vibrate when the shower was ready. The agent thanked me and asked me to enjoy the lounge.
The lounge was setup in a few different areas with a variety of low chairs with tables as well as couches and leather chairs with tables. There was also a small business center area along with private small rooms for making phone calls.
The lounge offered food in three different locations. The main station included a variety of hot and cold foods. Another station had breads, cheese and desserts as well as light snacks. The third area was a sushi bar where sushi chefs were preparing sushi for guests.
The lounge had a self serve bar area with a few different wine options. There were several alcohol options as well the the traditional Japanese Beer serving machine. In addition near the sushi bar there was a sake station with a variety of options.
I selected a glass of Champagne before relaxing at a table while I waited for the shower.
A few minutes after I took a seat, the pager vibrated and I proceeded to the shower area. The agent took the pager from me and she presented a key to access the shower. The agent asked if I needed a toothbrush or razor. I declined and she thanked me and she asked me to enjoy the shower.
The shower room was small; however, it featured a shower suite with a rain shower as well as side spa jets. The room also included a toilet and sink and small chair as well as a mini closet.
The shower water temperature and pressure were excellent and the bath amenities provided in the shower were of good quality. The linens were clean and they were soft.
After taking the shower, I returned to the lounge area and I approached the sushi bar and the sushi chef greeted me warmly and he offered to prepare a dish for me. They offer a daily option that included a shrimp sushi, roll and a egg dish along with soy sauce, ginger and wasabi. The chef prepared it quickly and placed it on a clean tray with chopsticks and a chilled wet towel. The chef thanked me and asked me to enjoy it.
The sushi was freshly prepared. The shrimp had a good taste and flavor and the roll was excellent. The egg dish was sweet. The soy sauce, ginger and wasabi were fresh. The portion size was medium.
After having the sushi, I sampled a plate from the hot area with a chicken stir fry and some vegetables. Both items were fresh and they had a good taste and flavor.
The room offered a view of the gates; however, due to the rain the view was limited.
About five minutes before the boarding time, I departed the lounge. The agents thanked me for coming and they wished me pleasant flight.
Overall the lounge was comfortable and relaxing and I enjoyed the experience.
