Date: September 27, 2015
Flight: American Airlines 1427
From: Dallas Fort Worth (DFW)
To: Atlanta (ATL)
Aircraft: 737
Seat: 4F
I arrived at the airport for my 9:00 AM flight at 7:30 AM. The security line only had five other passengers in it and I was able to go through in less than five minutes.
I went for a walk around the terminal before the flight.
Upon arrival at the gate I noted that the flight was on time so I waited a few minutes for boarding to begin.
When I checked in for the flight I was on the waitlist for an upgrade. At some point over night I received an email saying the upgrade cleared and I was assigned seat 4F.
When boarding started, I approached the podium and when I reached the agent she greeted me politely and asked me to scan my boarding pass. After I scanned it she used my name and thanked me and invited me to board.
At the door to the plane, the flight attendant also welcomed me warmly and I took a seat.
Within two minutes, the flight attendant approached my seat and offered a beverage. I requested a vodka-cranapple. The flight attendant served it within a minute.
The aircraft was a new 737 with the sky interior and new air vents and control panel. The seat was the standard first class seat. The plane was clean and comfortable.
The boarding process was complete a few minutes before the scheduled departure time. The door was closed and the flight left on time. There was a short taxi before the plane took good.
Once in the air, the flight attendants welcomed the guests and they greeted me at my seat and offered a beverage. I requested a Coca-Cola.
After all the passengers were served their beverage, the flight attendant presented a snack basket.
I selected a lemon bread and a banana. The lemon bread was sweet and it was fresh and it had an excellent taste. The banana was also fresh and it had a good flavor.
The flight attendants offered additional drinks during the flight and they were attentive in the cabin.
The flight was quick and soon the Captain announced that we would be landing soon. The flight attendants cleaned up the cabin and checked in with each passenger again.
The flight landed early in Atlanta and had a 10-minute taxi to the gate. Upon arrival at the gate, the jetway was attached and the deplaning began. The flight attendants thanked me as I departed the plane and wished me a good day.
Overall, the flight was uneventful. It was nice that the aircraft was upgraded and I thought the flight attendants were friendly and polite.
It had been some time since I was in Atlanta. I used to travel through there all the time. So it was interesting being back. I went for a long walk underground in between the terminals from the T Terminal down to F and back to T.
