I visited the Admirals Club near Gate D15 before my flight to Minneapolis. The lounge was under renovation and some temporary seating was setup outside the lounge behind the check in area. Signs were up noted that the lounge would be refreshed soon.
After I approached the check in area, the agent requested my boarding pass and identification card. I presented them and she welcomed me into the club.
The club had a large seating room with various tables and chairs and couches. There was a small business center with computers and tables for laptops as well as restrooms and shower facilities.
The club also had a bar area with food that was available for purchase.
A buffet area was setup on one side of the club and it included two soups, vegetables, chips and crackers, hummus, salad, olives. Another bar area offered three varieties of nuts. There was a dessert station with brownies and cookies available.
There were limited options for power at the tables and chairs in the lounge.
When I arrived, the lounge was approximately 80% full. I selected a seat where I could use my laptop and utilized the internet for a while to work on the blog.
The lounge was clean and comfortable and the internet was working at a good speed throughout the visit. There were staff members circulating and keeping the area clean from used dishes, plates and glasses. The staff members were friendly and polite.
I approached the bar and the bartenders greeted me politely and they offered a drink. I ordered a vodka cranberry drink and the bartenders prepared it quickly in front of me and placed it on a cocktail napkin. The bartender thanked me sincerely and asked me to enjoy it.
I selected the salad as well as had some celery and tomatoes. The salad was good and it was made with cracked wheat and it had a tomato sauce. The salad had a good flavor. The celery and tomatoes were fresh and they had a good taste.
I departed the lounge about 10 minutes before the scheduled boarding time for my flight. As I walked by the check in area, the agents smiled and made eye contact with me and wished me a good evening.
Overall the lounge visit was good. I was able to do some work and have a snack before the flight. The only negative thing I found about the lounge was the limited power outlets. Hopefully with the remodel this issue will be rectified.
