Date: October 2, 2015
Flight: Delta Airlines 783
From: Minneapolis (MSP)
To: Atlanta (ATL)
Aircraft: 757
Seat: 3B
I arrived at the airport around 5:15 AM and found the pre-check area to only have a few people in line. I went through the line and exited security within five minutes of arriving at the airport.
I had about 45 minutes before boarding so I went for a walk around the airport.
Shortly before boarding time I made my way to the gate and found a lot of people standing around and waiting in the boarding area.
I booked my ticket using miles as this was a positioning flight. When I booked, economy was available at High miles and First was available at low so I selected first as it was the same price as economy.
Boarding began on time. Once I reached the font of the line I was greeted by the gate agent who scanned my boarding pass and welcomed me on the airplane.
At the door, two flight attendants also greeted me and welcomed me.
Delta boards 757 from door two, so it gives the first class cabin a more private feel as not everyone is walking by your seat.
Once I took my seat, a flight attendant approached me and provided a bottle of water. The flight attendant also offered to hang guest’s coats.
About 10 minutes later, the flight attendant greeted me and she offered a beverage. I ordered orange juice and she asked if I wanted ice. I declined and she thanked me.
The flight attendant provided the orange juice within two minutes and she thanked me and asked me to enjoy it.
The boarding process completed about five minutes before the scheduled departure time. The Captain made an announcement to welcome everyone on board and to provide information on the flight.
The flight departed the gate on time and there was a short taxi before we were up in the air.
The flight attendants entered the cabin within 10 minutes of take off and they provided hot towels.
The lead flight attendant greeted each passenger and she offered the option between a breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon or cereal. When she greeted me, I requested the sandwich. The flight attendant thanked me.
Within a minute or two, another flight attendant provided a place setting and offered a beverage. I requested a bloody Mary.
The flight attendant returned after two minutes and served the bloody Mary. She asked me to enjoy.
A few minutes later, the lead flight attendant returned to my seat and she presented the breakfast tray. The flight attendant asked if I wanted another drink at that time. I declined and she thanked me and asked me to enjoy.
The flight attendants circulated the cabin for the majority of the flight and they offered additional beverages and were attentive.
The breakfast consisted of a breakfast sandwich on toasted bread with egg and bacon. The sandwich was served hot. The eggs were fresh and the bacon was slightly crispy. The bread was crusty and it had a good taste. The dish was served with a small fruit bowl and strawberry yogurt. The fruit was fresh and sweet and it had a good taste. The bloody Mary tasted fresh and it had a good flavor and alcohol level.
After I finished my breakfast, the flight attendant offered to remove the tray and again asked if I wanted anything else. After I declined, she thanked me.
The aircraft was on a 757 with AVOD. The seats were standard first class recliner seats. The seats featured an outlet below each seat. The AVOD quality was good and Delta Studio was available including a large selection of movies, TV shows, music and games. I watched a TV show and the picture quality and sound was good; although when the flight attendants or pilot made an announcement, there was a very loud static noise at the conclusion of the message.
Shortly before landing, the flight attendants walked around and thanked each guest personally and they offered another bottle of water.
The flight landed on time and after about a 10-minute taxi, we reached a gate in the A terminal. The flight attendants thanked me as I departed the flight.
It had been some time since I flew Delta. I used to be a Diamond member and had always thought the in flight service was good. I felt that the flight attendants on this flight were friendly and polite and they made me feel welcome. The service level was excellent and they were very attentive.
Overall, I enjoyed the flight as the flight attendants made me feel welcome. The food was good and the flight was quick.
