Solo Stateooms

Norwegian Cruise Line’s announced that it is adding solo staterooms across the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet.

That includes solo balcony cabins, solo ocean view cabins and solo inside cabins.

Some of Norwegian ships have studio cabins that are designed to accommodate solo travelers. The rooms are small but they also offer access to a lounge for solo passengers to interact as well as enjoy coffee or snacks throughout the day.

I sailed in a Studio Cabin on Norwegian Prima. You can read about the experience here.

Solo Cabins

Norwegian will be starting offering the solo cabins on sailings beginning fleetwide on January 2, 2024.

You can begin booking the solo cabins this week.

Norwegian said that they will be adding the availability on a rolling basis across all 19 ships. The cruise line plans to have over 1,000 solo cabins available across the fleet.

The cruise line announced that the cabins will be sold for less than the cost of a double occupancy room and they will not add the solo supplement which normally is 100% of the cruise fare.

Hopefully the pricing will be reasonable and not just slightly less than the cost of a regular room with single supplement added.

This appears to give a little more room than in the studio cabins and the bed is larger.

The room looks comfortable and it is nice the window will be near the bed.

The balcony cabin for solo guests looks good as well and it is nice it has a full size bed as well as nice decorations and furniture.

Solo Guests

It can be fun traveling solo on a cruise. You can attend meetings nightly for other solo travelers and make friends to go to dinner together.

Norwegian has a good solo program and has hosted nightly meetings on most cruises.

When I sailed on Prima, the host had activities planned every day and coordinated dinners each night as well as seating for the shows onboard.

It is awesome that Norwegian Cruise Line Adds Solo Cabins to the fleet. This will make it easier for more people to enjoy solo travel.

You can read more about this in the press release from Norwegian Cruise Line here.
