Booking

We booked Dreams Los Cabos as part of a timeshare presentation offer that I received via a phone call earlier in the year. The package offered two, four-night stays at all-inclusive properties for $300 total or $150 each.

The breakdown of the cost is as follows:

Time Share Package – $150

Resort Charge – $75

Cash Tips – $120 (paid to bartenders, servers, resort staff)

Airfare: $160 ($80 per-ticket in taxes)

Taxi from Airport – $60

Total Cost – $565 for a four-night trip to Mexico

I previously wrote about our experience timeshare experience in Cancun at Sandos Cancun.

For our second resort, we selected Dreams and after going through an extended booking process we received confirmation for the hotel. The package included one-way airport transfer as well as four nights all-inclusive stay at the hotel in exchange for attending a “90-minute” presentation.

I will cover the presentation in another post. For this post, I will focus on the hotel experience. I will also cover the food and beverage in a third post.

Hotel Arrival Transportation

Upon arrival in the transportation area at the airport, we located a sign with my name on it.

Dreams Los Cabos Review

When I approached the agent, he greeted me and welcomed me to Cabo. The agent confirmed my name and asked to view my identification card. After I showed him he thanked me and asked me to take a seat while he called for the car to arrive.

Within five minutes, the driver arrived and he invited us to the van for the transfer. The agent and driver assisted with our luggage and helped with entering the van.

The agent rode in the van as well as the driver and he provided some information on Cabo as well as offered to book tours or return transportation options.

Hotel Arrival

The ride to the hotel lasted about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at the hotel, the bellman opened the door for us and assisted us with leaving the van. The bellman provided a luggage claim check and another staff member offered a chilled towel and a glass of sparkling wine to welcome us to the hotel.

The concierge greeted us and welcomed us to the hotel and she escorted us to a desk to check in to the hotel.

Another agent greeted us and she made a copy of our passports before processing our registration. The agent talked about the hotel features and she said that our room would be ready in about 30 minutes. The agent invited us to the concierge desk for further information.

The concierge reviewed the terms of the offer with us and setup the presentation for Friday morning before inviting us to enjoy our vacation.

We grabbed a drink at one of the bars and then returned to the front desk for our keys. The agent informed us that the room was ready and she issued keys to the room and invited us to the bell desk for assistance to the room.

Staff

The team members that we encountered throughout the stay were friendly and polite. They were always smiling and were getting us when we were nearby.

The pool had bar staff that circulated every 30 minutes or so and offered additional beverages and were welcoming.

The hotel offered entertainment during the day at the main pool. There were activities including fitness classes, games, cooking demonstrations and other activities. The staff leading these activities were upbeat and guests appeared to be enjoying them.

The hotel offered an entertainment show each evening. The performers were good and they offered different performances each evening.

View

The hotel offered stunning ocean views as well as space to view the sunrises and sunsets. I got up early each morning so I could watch the sunrises and took a few pictures.

Check out

When we were ready to depart the hotel we approached the front desk. There were three team members present. Two other guests were being assisted. One of the team members invited us to the desk. She asked if we were checking out. I said yes, and the team member asked for our room number. I provided it and she confirmed my name.

The team member inquired about our stay and she confirmed that there were no charges. The team member asked for my keys. I provided them and she thanked me. She provided a check-out voucher to give to the bellman when we were ready to depart. The agent offered additional assistance and she asked us to take a survey using the iPad at the desk. After we completed it, she thanked us and she invited us to return.

We approached a bellman and he greeted us and offered assistance. We informed him that we had a transfer arranged and he asked for the company name. I provided it and the bellman said that he would let us know when the transfer arrived.

About two minutes later, the bellman returned and he said the transfer was there and he used my name. The bellman assisted with our luggage and he loaded them in the car for us. The bellman asked about the stay and he asked if we were coming back next year. We said we enjoyed the hotel and would consider it. He said he was glad and he wished us a safe trip home.

Overall

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We found that the room to be excellent. We loved the balcony and view of the pool and ocean. It was nice that the hotel decorated the room to help us celebrate our anniversary. We felt that the room was clean and comfortable and we were able to relax both in and out of the room. The staff all worked well together and we felt warmly welcome.

One thing that was a bit annoying was that food could not be ordered at the pool and you were also not allowed to get food to-go from the restaurants so you could not enjoy lunch while you were at the pool. In addition, one other area that could be improved was the check-in process. It could have been a bit more streamlined so that the bell services were automatically provided rather than us having to walk over to the bell desk to request it.

Overall our stay was excellent and we would return again in the future.
