San Diego Spring Experience
This article is San Diego Spring Experience. It is the introduction to my Spring trip to sunny San Diego.
This trip report will cover my experience traveling to San Diego as well as exploring the city and having some great meals.
Background
I traveled to San Diego to accompany my wife who had a meeting. 
I planned on exploring the city during the day and we would spend time together in the evenings for dinner and checking out the city together.
Booking
I traveled to California for this San Diego Spring Experience thanks to Alaska Airlines, where I used a voucher from a previous trip to cover the airfare from Minneapolis to San Diego.
For the return trip, I purchased a ticket on Delta.
My wife’s employer covered the hotel stay at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina.

San Diego
San Diego is a great city to explore year round as the weather is generally mild.
There are so many great things to do in the city.
To start, I visited LonelyPlanet to get an overview of the city. On the page, you can learn why San Diego is great for surf, suds and sunsets!
I also took a look at TripAdvisor to find great restaurants and other places with personal reviews from other travelers.
In addition to these great resources, I checked out San Diego Tourism Authority for expert info on the area. Their webpage is a great starting point for any San Diego Adventure!
My favorite experience from the trip was sailing in the bay with San Diego Sailing Tours.
I loved being in a classic sail boat relaxing with a great local beer and taking in some cool views.
Foodie Experience
I love great food and San Diego has some amazing options to check out.
During my San Diego Spring Experience I got to sample some amazing seafood as well as contemporary cuisine.
I love fish tacos especially grilled ones, so I was determined to try some.
Casa Sol y Mar delivered with a fun environment, awesome margarita and of course blackened grilled fish tacos!
Dinners
For dinners, I got to experience three incredible experiences.
The first was at Osetra Seafood and Steaks.
My wife and I sampled some incredible appetizers including the most tender octopus we’ve ever tried.
We also relaxed and had some bubbly while enjoying the appetizers.
The second spot we visited was Fishmonger’s Market which is a unique spot with fresh seafood, crudo and awesome entrees.
The crudo was amazing and we ended up going from happy hour to dinner!
The last evening, I got to experience an incredible Farm to Table dinner at Farmer’s Bottega.
The Beef Tartar was exceptional and I got to enjoy their award winning stuffed quail entree.
