Philadelphia Trip Report – Delta Sky Club – MSP Airport

I arrived at the Sky Club about an hour before the boarding time for my flight. The agent greeted me promptly and asked for my boarding pass. I scanned my boarding pass and provided the Sky Club Day Pass that I previously purchased from Ebay. The agent thanked me and she welcomed me to the club.

I had previously visited this lounge several times as I used to have a membership when I traveled on Delta. At MSP there are two Sky Clubs. One with a hosted bar and one with a self service bar. For this visit I visited the main club which has the hosted bar. The lounge is located between the F and G Gates next to the Chili’s.

The club is one large room with two levels. On the lower level there is a variety of chairs both high and low as well as tables. There is also a business center area with computer desks. On the upper level there is the bar as well as the self service snack area.

The bar features a few TV’s that were tuned to sports programming during the visit. The bar is a luxury one so they have both complimentary as well as for-purchase premium items.

To the side of the bar is a seating area with tables and chairs. The chairs appeared new and there were red low chairs and gray high chairs. At all the tables there were outlets under the seats. On the high tables, there were outlets at the top of the table.

The lounge features a good mix of snacks. That evening there were two soups available, Thai Chicken Curry Soup as well as a Squash Soup. In addition, there was a small pasta salad available, chicken salad and lettuce with three different dressing options. There were also two varieties of cookies available. There were two spreads offered including humus as well as cheese. Both spreads were pre-packaged. There were also vegetables and yellow cheese offerings. Two types of crackers were available. Apples, bananas and oranges were also available. In addition, there was a coffee station with flavor options. All the food items appeared fresh and they were presented attractively.

I approached the bar and the bartender greeted me promptly. I requested a boody mary with a side of beer. The bartender asked if I wanted the bloody mary spicy or regular. I requested spicy. She also offered a choice between Miller Lite and Summit EPA. I requested the Summit. The bartender prepared the drinks and presented them promptly. The bartender thanked me sincerely.

The bloody mary had a tangy flavor and a good alcohol level. It appeared that the standard house brand was Stoli. The drink was garnished neatly. I requested the beer in a small glass and it was fresh and it had a good taste.

From the snack area, I selected chicken salad and the lettuce salad with a balsamic dressing.

The chicken salad was served chilled. The salad was creamy and the chicken had a fresh taste. There was celery in it and the celery was crunchy and it had a good taste. The lettuce was fresh and two varieties were provided. The salad dressing was self service with olive oil and balsamic. The dressing had a good taste and flavor.

I relaxed in the lounge for a while prior to my flight. I selected a chair at one of the tables near the bar. The seating area was comfortable.

The lounge was relatively busy; however, there were still a few tables and chairs available for arriving guests.

When I was ready to depart, the agent at the desk thanked me while I walked by the desk.

The lounge offered WiFi that was available via the AT&T Network. A password was provided at the check in desk and the bar. The internet speed was average for public WiFi.

Overall the visit was good. The lounge was quiet and the food offerings were good. I felt the agents that I interacted with were friendly and polite and they made me feel welcome.
