Beijing Trip Report – American Admiral’s Club at DFW

After I cleared security I took the train from the D terminal to the A terminal at Dallas Fort Worth for my flight to Minneapolis which was departing from A24.

Once I arrived in the A terminal I walked to the Admiral’s Club which was located by gate A23.

When I entered the lounge there were two colleagues present at the reception desk on the lower level. One other guest was waiting. One of the colleagues invited me to the desk. I presented my boarding pass and informed her I had just arrived from Beijing. The colleague scanned the boarding pass and she thanked me and she presented a coupon for a premium beverage. The colleague asked me to enjoy my visit. She returned my boarding pass and provided instructions on going upstairs into the club.

The lower level hallway had a few photographs and has some decorative elements to it.

I took the stairs and entered the main level of the lounge. There were three colleagues present at the customer service desk and zero other guests were waiting. One of the colleagues smiled and made eye contact with me and said hello.

The lounge is spread out across multiple rooms. It was at around 75% occupancy when I arrived.

Just beyond the customer service desk is the buffet area which offered cheese, crackers, hummus, salad and vegetables at one station. Another station offered three snacks mixes. A hot food area was present with two types of soups. In addition, cookies and desserts were located in that area as well.

The tables and chairs were arranged neatly. There were a couple tables open so I selected one and took a seat.

The lounge also offered a business center area, fitness center with a couple machines in it, as well as a quiet area with more comfortable chairs.

A bar area was at the far end of the lounge. The bar area was busy with activity. There were two bartenders present and a few guests standing at the bar and the rest were seated throughout the area.

I needed a shower after the long flight and I proceeded to the customer service desk. When I arrived one of the colleagues invited me to the desk and he offered assistance. I inquired if a shower was available. He said that there was and he asked for my boarding pass. After I provided it, he presented a key and provided instructions on locating the room.

I was assigned shower number 5 which was accessed via a hallway that went through the fitness center.

The shower room had a sink, toilet and spa shower with a rain shower head as well as jets on either side.

The room was stocked with a shower towel, hand towel and wash cloth. There were containers with shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap.

The room was clean and in good condition.

I utilized the shower. The water temperature and pressure were excellent and the jets provided for a relaxing shower.

Once I changed after my shower I exited the shower room and returned to the customer service desk. The same colleague greeted me and he accepted the key back and he returned my boarding pass. The colleague thanked me and he wished me a good day.

I approached the bar area and was greeted within a minute by a bartender. The bartender welcomed me and she asked what I would like. I presented the voucher and requested a Prosecco. The colleague took out one of the bottles and she provided a glass. The colleague asked if I needed anything else. After I declined she thanked me and wished me a good day.

I returned to my seat and relaxed for a few minutes while I enjoyed the Prosecco.

The Prosecco was served chilled and it had a good level of bubbles and it was slightly dry.

Shortly before the boarding time for my flight, I exited the lounge. When I walked by the customer service desk the colleagues smiled, made eye contact with me and wished me a good flight.

In addition, when I exited the lounge on the lower level one of the colleagues at the reception desk thanked me sincerely and wished me a good day.

Summary –

I enjoyed the visit to the lounge. The shower was relaxing and it was a nice option that they had the spa like suite available with the jets. The colleagues I interacted with were polite and I enjoyed the visit.
