Hyatt Place Eden Prairie
I recently had to go to a meeting in Eden Prairie MN which is located about 25 minutes from Minneapolis and I stayed overnight at the Hyatt Place Eden Prairie.
Reservation Details
I made the reservation using cash as the rate was only $115.
Location
The hotel is located near the Eden Prairie Center Mall as well as near several larger businesses. It is located near the highway as well which makes it convenient for going to a meeting in the morning.
The exterior building is in the standard Hyatt Place decoration and it does not have any unique features.
Check In
I approached the reception desk and was greeted by the team member who efficiently checked me in and pointed out the time for breakfast. The team member thanked me for being a Diamond Member and he provided a coupon for a free beverage.
I used it in the morning for a Starbucks Cappuccino.
The team member provided keys and he welcomed me to the hotel.
Public Areas
The public areas of the hotel were clean. The lobby featured a lot of seating areas including a more private area with a television.
The bar and snack area was clean and the bottles were displayed neatly.
The gallery area for the morning breakfast was clean and everything was put away when I checked in. The dishes were stacked neatly.
The hotel features a fitness center. The fitness center was clean. There were several different machines that were in working order. Some weights and other equipment was also available. The area was free of defect.
Guest Room
I was assigned room 625.
The key opened the door without issue.
The room featured a king size bed and large seating area similar to other Hyatt Place properties.
The room had a desk with a computer chair. The chair was comfortable and the desk was clean.
In addition, a bar area with a small refrigerator was present. No water bottles were provided in the room.
The bathroom area was clean.
The room was in good condition overall; however, there was a mysterious white stain on the wall directly next to the bed.
I am surprised housekeeping did not clean that prior to me being assigned the room.
Other than that the room was good and the linens were clean and the bed was comfortable.
Breakfast
In the morning I had a quick breakfast in the Gallery Area.
The breakfast featured a couple hot items as well as various cold items.
The hot items included eggs, sausage and pancakes.
None of the hot items looked appealing.
The cold items included fruit and yogurt.
Pastries were also available as well as bread and muffins.
Juice was available in the chilled area.
In addition, Seattle’s Best coffee was available.
It is interesting that for the Espresso drinks for purchase, the hotel uses Starbucks.
For breakfast, I selected eggs, sausage, fruit, orange juice and the cappuccino I used the free certificate for.
The eggs were warm but they needed the hot sauce because they lacked a good taste. The sausage was also nothing to write home about. The fruit was chilled and it had a good taste. The juice was also fresh.
The best part of the breakfast was the cappuccino.
Check Out
Check out was efficient. The team member processed it quickly and he offered a copy of the folio. I requested that it be emailed. The team member thanked me. I received the email within a few minutes. The team member wished me a good day and invited me to return.
Overall
Overall the stay was good but not particularly memorable. The team members were efficient and they were polite. The room was clean except for the stain on the wall by the bed. The breakfast was okay. Unless I had to be in the area again, I would probably not stay at this location again.
