Hyatt Regency DFW Airport
This post covers our stay at the Hyatt Regency DFW Airport hotel.
Hotel Booking
We booked the overnight at Dallas Fort Worth due to our flight routing after a flight change.
Our stay at the hotel occurred during the work week and hotel prices near DFW airport were relatively high. Our first choice of staying at the Grand Hyatt at the D terminal was not an option because the room rates were running close to $500 per night. I reviewed Hilton and Hyatt options and noted that everything was pricing around $150-$200 a night.
I also checked cash and point options with Hyatt and found availability at the Hyatt Regency DFW Airport hotel available for a few thousand points plus $55 for the night. I made the booking using the cash and points to reduce our out of pocket costs for the trip.

Hotel Shuttle
After collecting our bags, we called the hotel and requested the shuttle. The agent provided directions and we waited about 20 minutes before the shuttle picked us up.
The shuttle was clean and the driver was polite and he assisted us with our bags.
Hotel Check In
The lobby was busy with activity when we arrived. After joining the line, we waited for about 10 minutes before being assisted by the agent.
The agent welcomed us and processed our registration efficiently. The agent provided keys and she offered points or an amenity for our stay. I requested points and she thanked us. She also offered a late check out.
The agent wished us a pleasant stay after offering additional assistance.
Hotel Lobby
The hotel lobby had unique decorations and wall art.
The lobby and public areas were clean and good condition overall.
The elevators functioned and were clean.
Room
We were assigned room 1358, which was a king size bed room located on the top floor.
The room was clean overall and it featured a king bed in the middle of the room with a small seating area next to it.
A desk was available along with a dresser and television.
The room offered a view of the parking lot with a partial view of the airport terminal.
The bathroom featured a shower and toilet as well as a vanity in the entryway.
The shower did not offer hot water when we attempted to take a shower in the morning even after running the water for several minutes. So I had to take a very brief shower due to the cold water.
Outside of the issue with the water temperature the room was otherwise in good condition.
The bed was comfortable.
We did not watch TV or use the desk.
The room was originally warm; however, we were able to adjust the temperature quickly.
Lounge
The Hyatt Regency DFW Airport does not offer a Club Lounge; however, guests are offered breakfast in the hotel restaurant in the morning and two free bottles of water. The water bottles were labeled as $3 each; however, the agent at the desk said the charges would be waived.
Breakfast
We briefly visited the restaurant in the morning to check out the breakfast options.
The restaurant offers a choice between a menu or a buffet. Either option was complimentary for Hyatt Diamond members.
The tables and chairs were setup neatly and the dishes, glasses, flatware and plates were clean.
The menu offered a variety of options, all of which sounded good.
The buffet featured hot and cold items and it was setup neatly. The food items had signs present and the utensils were clean.
The hot food included eggs, oatmeal, breakfast meats and hash browns. Made to order eggs were also available.
The cold food included fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and pastries.
The food looked appetizing.
Due to time constraints, we did not sample breakfast as we planned on having breakfast at the Centurion Lounge at the airport instead.
Check out
I approached the desk to check out in the morning. The agent greeted me warmly and she inquired about my stay. I informed her about the cold water in the shower. She thanked me for informing her, but I did not feel that she was sincere in her apology. The agent reviewed the charges and she confirmed the method of payment. The agent offered the shuttle to the airport and she thanked us and wished us a good day.
Shuttle
The shuttle departs every 20 minutes. Two shuttles were utilized. One that served A, B and C terminals and the other that served the D and E terminals. A doorman assisted us with our luggage and he inquired us about our stay at the hotel The doorman thanked us and he wished us a good flight.
The shuttle was clean and the driver was polite. The driver assisted with our luggage and he wished us a good flight as well.
Summary
Our stay was a bit disappointing because of the issue with the shower. It would have been a lot nicer if the agent at the desk would have been sincere in apologizing or would have offered to do something for us to apologize for the issue. But nonetheless, the room was clean and comfortable and we were able to relax overnight at DFW.
