Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina

Booking
My wife was attending a conference in San Diego and the hotel was booked as part of the conference.

Arrival
My wife and I arrived at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina and approached the reception desk to check in.
An agent invited us to desk promptly and processed my registration efficiently.
The agent acknowledged my Marriott Gold Status and provided passes to the lounge and she described the hotel services. The agent wished me a pleasant stay.
Room
My wife and I were assigned room 2252 in Tower 2 at the hotel.
The room was a two bed room that offered a view of the marina.
The room was clean upon arrival and it was setup neatly.
The beds were comfortable and the linens were in good condition.
The room featured a desk with computer chair, which was attached to the dresser and television area.
The desk was in good condition.
The television offered a variety of HD channels and the remote functioned.
The room featured a chair near the window that was comfortable.
The bathroom featured a shower that was clean and in good condition.
The vanity area was clean and offered a small amount of space for our personal items.
The water temperature and pressure in the shower was good.
The room was comfortable throughout the stay and the housekeeping staff refreshed the room well each day.
Public Areas
The hotel features two pools and a spa area.
The walkways around the pools were clean and they were decorated neatly with palm trees.
The bar area surrounding the pool offered comfortable chair with fire pits where you could relax and view the palm trees.
The pools were maintained well, and the water was clean.
Fire pits and other features were available near the pool.
The lobby was spacious, and it was in good condition throughout the stay.
The exterior areas of the hotel were in good condition and the grounds were neat.
The Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina offers a large gym.
The gym offers a variety of equipment and has fitness classes available throughout the day.
The marina area was in good condition and you can walk up close to the boats docked there.
Breakfast
The Marriott Marquis San Diego offers breakfast in the lounge.
Upon arrival at the lounge, the agent welcomed me and asked for the lounge access card. I provided it and she looked up my name on a list and checked it off before inviting me to enter the lounge.
The lounge was setup neatly with tables and chairs throughout the large area. On one side, you could select seats in front of the window, which offered an awesome view of the marina.
Servers were circulating the room to clean the tables and remove used items.
The lounge had a large buffet with hot and chilled foods.
The hot foods included eggs, bacon, cinnamon rolls and oatmeal.
The chilled foods included yogurt station with toppings, fresh fruit, pastries, toast, bagels and English muffins.
The food was setup neatly and the area was refreshed constantly.
I selected oatmeal and toast and made a coffee in the Seattle’s Best fresh brew machine.
The oatmeal had a good taste. I topped it with granola and seeds.
The toast was fresh, and the bread had a good taste.
The coffee was also fresh and served hot.
Evening Reception
My guest and I visited the lounge for the evening reception a couple times during the visit.
The lounge was staffed by friendly agents who welcomed us after we provided the access cards.
The lounge featured hot food and chilled food.
Guests could select from one hot item. One of the evenings it was Sloppy Joes. Another evening Mushroom Stroganoff was available. .
Cheese, veggies, fruit, salad and chips were available along with coffee and sodas.
The area was setup neatly and servers were circulating the room to assist the guests.
Check Out
When we were ready to depart the hotel, we approached the reception desk to check out. We were greeted promptly and an agent handled the check out efficiently. The agent thanked us sincerely for staying at the hotel and invited us to return.
Overall
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. The staff we interacted with were friendly and polite. The room was comfortable and clean. The public areas were in good condition. The pool was a nice feature for the experience. The lounge offered a great evening and breakfast experience. Overall it was a good stay.
